let freedom ring

damnit, i haven't slept well in almost a week. this tragedy keeps the ends a little frayed and makes sleep a little difficult. you want resolve, but how? vengance is a good thing. it is resolve, but you can't just start dropping bombs and sending in more troopers to die. i feel hog tied. i want something done.

i just heard from my cousin shelly. her husband is a navy pilot. she told me she just lost a very good friend who was stationed at the pentagon. i may have not known the person, but shelly did and that bring this that much closer to home.

i think one good way to move on is to turn off that god damn glowing box in the corner. turn off your tv. do it right now. you don't need to see those images anymore. it doesn't help. if you need to still see them, there is something wrong with you. it's gone from horror and shock to plain old morbid. let those people rest in peace. it's time to get back to our lives. i know the insecurities. believe me, i got nervous going over the rouge bridge the other night.

this isn't an excuse to arab bash either. arab americans are just that...americans. they came here for a better life just like your forefathers did. i'll admit, i wanted to ban the arab gas stations and party stores when this first happened, but what does that prove? nothing. i'm going to go on with my life now. maybe a litle more cautious, maybe a little more appreciative of the things i have and the people i love, but i'm moving on.

if you own a flag, raise it high. now's the time to be patriotic. not just the 4th of july. it was reasons like this that our forefathers fought so hard to form a free country. be proud of who you are and where you live. don't let these cowards take away your freedom.
